Spatulata seeds

Question
spatulata
spatulata
It appears as my D Spatulata that I got from you all about a month ago is getting ready to flower.  I saw in the DVD how to harvest and propogate the seeds but how could I store them to propagate later and how long can they be stored.

Answer
Hi Pat,

To store your seeds, take some white paper such as copier or printer paper, and fold it to make a tiny pouch.  Pour your seeds in that, then put your little paper pouch into a small envelope.  We use envelopes made for keys, but any small manila envelope will do.  Store this in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.  D. spatulata seeds are pretty tough, and 6 months is something of a ballpark figure.  Viability should remain fairly high for even up to a year, but many tropicals have shorter viability that temperate species, so it's good to get them planted sooner rather than later.

Your plant looks great!

Good Growing!
