Rollie Pollies

Question
My drosera capensis had a rollie pollie on it earlier today, but it fell of and dug into the soil. Will this be harmful to my sundew?

Answer
A potato bug (also called pill bug or rolly pollly), are absolutely harmless to plants of all types.  They eat decaying matter and won't eat your plant.  You can remove the bug if you don't want it in your pot.  However, if you keep your plant outdoors, you'll have to be content with the occasional potato bug or two.  If you keep your plant indoors in a windowsill, you minimize potato bugs making home in the soil.

Good growing!
