Question
poi dog nepenthes
Hello! I have a poi dog Nepenthes, that has been doing well I thought. but now while watering this evening I found or saw little clear bugs in the dirt and around the bottom of the plant it's self? if you could please give me advice on how to treat this? hopefully with out hurting the plant! Thank you in advance!! I did attach a picture. I do hope this helps. I live in Oregon and the plant is still in the soil that I bought it in. ( I need to replant!)I bought the plant back in June I believe at the Portland Saturday market! oh my plant is in our south window for lighting.
AnswerThose critters are likely some sort of larvae. Yes, you should get rid of them as soon as possible. Carnivorous plants are very tolerant of insecticides. Follow the recommendations outlined in our video podcast.

On another note, move your plant closer to the window so it could get more direct sunlight. The growth looks a bit lanky and the leaves are too green. They should have a very slight tinge of yellow or red, depending on the variety.
Good growing!
