Questioncan bare root sarracenia be allowed to flower the first season after purchase? the website doesn't say if they were recently divided or not.
AnswerHi Dillon,
If you make your purchase in the spring, definitely cut the flowers off. Most smaller plants are divisions unless they say (us or anyone else) they are from seed or tissue culture from most nurseries that are sold in the spring. Plants purchased from mid-summer on either won't bloom, or are established enough at that point to let bloom. If you just want more pitchers, cutting flowers off will help with that in any plant.
Good Growing!
