Darlingtonia likes a fast draining mix, so we now like using equal parts peat, sand, and perlite. I wish I could tell you that there is one perfect mix, but Darlingtonia is much like Nepenthes in this respect. As long as it is low-nutrient, and drains quickly, it will work. Darlingtonia also grows very well in pure live Sphagnum moss. Here's a good article which also has a link to our "Serpent of the Siskiyou's" podcast.
