Somethings wrong

The crown
The crown
I use distilled water and it gets rain water. I guess it could be that the pot is too small for this hot climate. It may absorb to much heat. I haven't noticed any insects infesting the crown but I just don't know what's going on.

Answer
Hi Jesus,

Thanks for the photos.  That really helps.

Since your plant overall looks quite good this brown spot may have just been some physical damage cause be a bird, bug, or who knows what, but it's probably no big concern.  This time of year I see all kinds of odd things like this in our nursery plants, along with the tube browning that happens from them catching so many bugs.  As long as new growth isn't looking odd, which would be a sign of insect problems, your plant seems to be doing fine.

It would be good to get this plant into a larger pot.  The crowded rhizome may be what caused the damage as the new shoot grew against the pot, and if it was a really hot day, it burned a tiny part of the new shoot.  You don't need to transplant it right away, but it's fine if you want to do it soon.  Your growing season is much longer than ours so it should recover from the transplant quickly.

Good Growing!
