QuestionOk so I am so very eager to know that if my flower stalk is done growing I am growing a sarracenia purpurea and it has a flower and it had just opened last night the flower looks terrific but small and the problem is that the flowers stalk is 6 inches and I thought it grew bigger and taller and the stalk also stopped growing? So I am very eager to know if it is done growing (the flower stalk) becuz I always thought that sarracenia flowers got so much bigger but ya it's 6 inches and I just want to know if it stopped growing and I have it growing in one part peat spagphum moss and one part perlite and I'm growing it in Illinois
AnswerHi Michelle,
If the flower is open, it's done growing. Flowers produced during the late season such as right now, are often shorter, and they never produce seed. Late spring, early summer is the normal flowering period.
Good Growing!
