Question
Helianphora
Allexpert,
I got this Helianphora in January. Right now the plant is producing a weird pitcher in the form of a flower or a deformed pitcher. If this is a flower will it produce seeds? Look forward to hearing what this structure is on the plant.
AnswerHi Weylin,
It probably is a flower, but no it won't produce seeds. You would need two plants that were genetically different, and they are difficult to pollinate since it takes a particular vibration to get the stamens to release pollen. However, the flowers are quite pretty, so it fun to have one blooming.
Good Growing!
