Allexperts,
I was wondering if this plant could go out side for the summer since it is a highlander? I am pretty conseravative now after losing Nep Jamban about bringing highland nepenthes outside.
Sincerely,
Weylin Callery
AnswerHi Weylin,
It definitely could. Here's some factors to be aware of. Make sure your night temperatures are not dropping below 55, 60F would be even better. Provide filtered sun such as under a tree. It will need some sun, but not like Sarracenia. I've always found a small tree to work will as long as it gets some sun during the day. The sun should not be strong afternoon sun; morning is better. Also, a bigger pot is strongly recommended. Plants can dry out much more quickly outside. Try to keep it out of any windy locations.
This plant with it's dark red leaves is going to be more of a sun lover than many other Nepenthes.
Good Growing!
