QuestionMy Sphagnum moss has .4 percent nitrogen in it, along with my perlite. It is the miracle grow brand. I was wondering if it was safe to use on my Nepenthes Truncata.
AnswerHello Ryan,
Nitrogen laced products like that are the worst ones to use with carnivorous plants. Reports of plants weakening and dying within weeks are common with those products. It is difficult to find a good supplier of nitrogen free products, so I commonly just use the premixed soils from carnivorous plant vendors, like cobraplant.com.
