QuestionHi i just got a new nepenthes stenophylla from the mail and i would like to know can i put a little water in the pitchers
AnswerYes, you can add some water in the pitchers, but it's not at all necessary. Sometimes nurseries have to empty out the pitchers for shipping, but the plant will produce more fluids provided they have enough light and the pitchers are young enough. Older pitchers will unlikely produce any fluids. It won't hurt the plant adding water, and it won't hurt the plant not adding water. This is usually a judgement call by the grower. Personally, I don't add water to pitchers after getting them in the mail.
Good growing!
