Question
Darlintonia Darlintonia
Allexperts,
The Darlintonia that I have has begun to outgrow it 4in cube pot. I was wondering what type of pot I should use for it. In the Volume 1# of the Carnivorous plants you guys said that Cat litter pans and Tera Cotta pots are good. The plant is currently in a plastic pot. I was planning on using an Orchid Terra Cotta pot. Is that okay? I am planning on repotting the plant again this year. I have attached a photo with this question. Please, let me know if there is anything else you need.
Sincerely,
Weylin
AnswerHi Weylin,
In your situation because of the way you are growing your plants, I would stick with plastic pots for now. If the type of orchid pot your talking about is the glazed ceramic type that has the holes in the sides, that is fine. You'll just need to water more frequently. For now I would avoid terracotta since you will have much water loss, need much more frequent watering, and your plant looks to have been doing fine. Terracotta is more helpful outdoors where you would have higher day temperatures, and it helps cool the soil.
Good Growing!
