one of my sundews has this white residue on the soil, is it mold or something else.

It probably is mold. That's very common in the winter when our houses are closed up, and mold spores are more present in the air. Try scraping the mold off, then when you water, top-water the pot frequently. This will help keep the spores from getting started on the soil.
