I'm about to cut off all of my sarracenias' leaves for winter. Should their phyllodia be trimmed off too? Or just some of it? Or none of it?

AnswerHi Elizabeth,
Go ahead and leave the phyllodia. They are helpful to the plants in spring since they do some photosynthesis, and they don't block light or cause any problems with freezing. If you did cut them off it won't hurt them.
