QuestionAllexperts,
I am interested to know how long does a primrose butterwort Live for?The reason ,why is that the butterwort that I got from Saracenia Northwest has died. The other primrose butter worts are alive and doing well. Perhaps it completed its life cycle, and just died. As all always thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Weylin
AnswerThe life cycle is about two years for the main plant. The plant propagates itself via leaf buds, so the colony can survive indefinitely. If the entire colony had died, there may have been some other issues going on. Fungus and gnats are the two most common causes of death for this particular plant.
Good growing!
