Nepenthes new growth question

Question
Hello gentlemen
The question I have pertains to new growth on young nepenthes.

I have some new, young nepenthes (2?to 3?across) developing different size leaves at their growth point.

The plants are: N. hamata, N. jamban, and a N. ventricosa x aristolochioides.

Their original basal leaves are long and wide, but their new growth is shorter and extremely narrow. The leaf color is dark green like the original leaves.

I have had these plants for about two months now, so I wasn抰 sure if I might be doing something wrong.

Their environment is: 16 hr Artificial light (supplemental) ?w/ 6 hours full sun, - w/ 8 hours of indirect sunlight. Temp ranges from 90 degrees in the day, 70 degrees at night. Humidity ranges from 80% average during the day, and 60% at night.
I have three hamata X's that seem to be doing well in the same setup that these little guys are growing in. My other Neps, are thriving too.

Any suggestions, or am I just worrying too much over nothing?

BTW, my Cepalotus is doing well after following your advice and the 6?pot is just climbing with new pitchers!

Thanks again!
John

Answer
Hi John,

All this sounds like is that the plants were in shadier conditions at the nursery you bought them from, and now you have them brighter, probably more normal conditions.  Are the plants making pitchers?  If you see pitcher production you're doing fine.  If not, maybe try backing them off from the sun exposure some, or shade them a little amongst the the other plants.  Many Nepenthes take awhile to adjust to a new location even if the conditions are really good.  We've had plants take several months to adapt if they've been bare-rooted before shipping.

Glad to hear the Cephalotus is doing well.

Good Growing!
