Question

I have been feeding with mealworms from a can. I just noticed a pitcher that has been dying off has grubs/maggots/worms (not sure what) in/on it. im going to cut that pitcher off to try and minimize whatever might be going on. What is it? how to deal with it?
         Thanks,

Answer
Hi Robby,

It looks like you may have been feeding your plants too much.  You probably have decaying mealworms in the pitchers, so the plant can't digest them all.  When they begin to decay, houseflies come and lay eggs, and whaa-Laa!  Maggots.

Just cut those pitchers off and get rid of the maggots.  Only feed your plants a couple mealworms in each pitcher a month if they are not catching anything, and if they are catching their own bugs, don't feed them any extra.

Good Growing!
