The charcoal isn't a problem, but the particular composition of the orchid mix could be. In order for it to be appropriate for Nepenthes it needs some peat moss or sphagnum moss in it. Many orchid mixes just contain bark, large perlite, and charcoal. That doesn't hold enough water. You could use that as a start, but you would need to add some long-fiber sphagnum moss to it.
