re-potting

Question
I have some sarracenia and fly traps that had been growing pretty well for about 5 years.  They have become quite crowded.  The fly traps have formed many new plants and one sarracenia is warping the pot.  It's hot here even now and I am worried that the beginning of June is too late to repot this year.  Would they be ok if I started that process now with temps. in the mid 90's already?
Cheryl

Answer
Yes, you can repot them now.  It's still relatively early in the growing season, so your plants will have plenty of time to readjust.  Given your temperatures, you likely have a longer growing season than we do.  (You didn't mention your location, so I can't determine the actual length of your growing season.)

When you repot, just be gentle with the roots.  After repotting, you may see your plants slow down slightly.  This is normal as the plant needs to repair microdamage to the roots.  It's nothing to worry about.  Sometimes it's completely unavoidable. It even happens to us when we have to repot in mid season.
