QuestionJeff,
How much experience have you had cultivating N. aristolochioides? Is this particular species very slow growing like N. rajah??
Thank you,
Derick
AnswerYou should treat this species like any other ultra highlander. Provide several hours of direct sunlight with dappled or filtered sun during the rest of the day. Temperatures should remain mild during the day (under 80? and cool at night (under 60?. You'll see better growth and more pitchers if the night temperature is allowed to drop to the low 50s and upper 40s.
This species is more vigorous than rajah, but that's all relative. Ultra highlanders grow slower than other types of Nepenthes. Most growers tend to see more pitchers in winter because of the cooler temperatures.
Good growing!
