QuestionHey Jeff,
I have a question regarding Sarracenia flowers. How long are the stigmas on a Sarracenia flower receptive to pollen? What is the telltale sign that pollination was a success?
Thank you,
Derick
AnswerThe stigma is receptive for several days. The exact number is unknown, but generally no more than a week. So it's good to continue pollinating it for at least 3 days in a row. You won't know if you're successful until a month or two later when you see the pod swelling up.
Good growing!
