My \'Black Knight\'
My 'Black Knight'
ANSWER: Hello Robby,
Need to found out some facts first.  One what kind and how much lighting is your Nepenthes getting in a 24 hour time frame?  Watering type and drainage is key as well, so what kind of soil mix is your nice Nepenthes planted in, and for how long has this plant been in this hanging pot? How long has your plant not been giving your pitchers? and you are using distilled water right?  Looking forward to getting you wonderful Nepenthes plant on track!  Thanks for asking me to help, and know I'll be doing all I can to help!
         Thanks Dan Bowen

QUESTION: For lighting I can say 6-8 hrs. Non of it direct though. Has to bounce off the house walls or porch floor due to the metal over hang. I would call it diffused light. And it's been not pitcherimg pretty much since I brought it home. And yes I use distillers water. Drainage is very good since the hanging pot has that brown fibrous matting. It was in a hanging pot before but it was just a cheap plastic one, it's been in this one since a week after purchase. Soil is potting soil and sphagum moss. The goal was 50/50 but it might be a little more moss.
Thank you for all your help,
         Robby

Answer
Hello again Robby,
Two things stand out to me as problems with your plant pitcher.  One that you may need to add some lighting by moving the plant to a window with more hours of better lighting or add some artificial fluorescent cool lighting over your plant to add about 6-9 hours. As I had said before in the winter time because of the poor lighting many Nepenthes will not pitcher and this may be the problem with your plant.  You still need to check the potting soil for most will kill carnivorous plants like the one you have.  Let me know how it goes and know I'm here for you!  Happy growing, Dan Bowen
