Death cube

Question
I just bought some dormant plants from a death cube at lowes. The instructions said to plant in the soil keep in the death cube and in a noth window... ya right. Any ways i put the plants in some fresh 50% peat 50% perlite mixture i have. I know there are two venus fly traps and a sarracania of some kind. i put the plants in my fridge so they can complete there dormancy with my other venus fly trap. I was just wondering if this is ok to do and if since they were in a death cube be ok to take them out all there are is the bulbs, wich surpisingly looks fairly healthy and a few non carnivorouse dormant leaves on each plant. and when spring roles around should i acclamate these plants to the higher light levels out side or just put them directly in full sun. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Robert,

This is probably fine, but be 100% certain that they will not freeze in your refrigerator at all.  Being at room temperatures they haven't built up anti-freeze chemicals in their cells like a plant that goes through the fall would have.  If you have any doubt, just place them in a bright windowsill.  Just cut off any bad looking leaves, and a fungicide spray would be a good idea.  The full sun in a window this time of year isn't as intense as going outside during the summer, so you don't need to worry about that too much.

Good Growing!
