QuestionHello, I was curious if you've done root cutting for Drosera Bianta. If so, what size should the root should be when you cut it off from the mother plant to propagate vegetatively new Drosera Binats 'babies'?
I accidentally cut a piece of root off once while re-potting and it grew into a little Drosera Binata. So I was wondering what I had to do to achieve this success again.
Thanks!
Answer
Some of my Babies
I have and do grow many D. Bianta Sundews in many of my Terrariums. I have never tried any type of leaf or root cuttings with these type of sundews for my best study has been in the growing and set ups of many kinds of carnivorous plants in different terrarium settings. I have a great friend Aaron May, the sundewman at www.growsundews.com/sundews/Drosera_binata_varielies.html He is great with all things to do with all sundews. I always want to make sure you have the very best answer to help you with this wonderful hobby and in this cast Mr.Aaron May and His great web. site this it! I use this site myself and learn and enjoy every time I visit His site! I'd enjoy seeing a photo of your thriving sundews, maybe someday? Thanks for sending my this question and know if you ever plan on growing any carnivorous plants in a terrarium I will have great info. and be so happy to help you! Happy Growing for now and may you, with Aaron help have many babies sundews to enjoy! Dan
