Question
Mirabilis x raffansian
Allexperts,
I have a question about whether putting the plant in a fish bowl then putting a light over top that setup would be an better for the pant? Will the plant adapt to its surroundings? I have attached a picture of the plant. Please let me know if there are any other things I could do. As always thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Weylin
AnswerHi Weylin,
Both N. rafflesiana and N. mirablis are true lowlanders, and have rather papery leaves. This is a plant that will benefit from elevated humidity. An enclosure is going to be a good idea. It should also not have temperatures below 65 degrees, and would prefer day temperatures in the 80's. This one isn't going to be a great windowsill plant. This is one that will be happier in a lighted terrarium or a greenhouse.
Good Growing!
