QuestionHi! I have a sarracenia leucophylla that put up 6 beatiful fall pithers for the season. I remember in your november podcast that you guys said the leucophylla pitchers hold on well into the winter. Well, 2 of the 6 pitchers are starting to brown at the tip and edges of the lid. I live in massachusetts.
AnswerHi Victor,
It's perfectly normal for them to begin browning now. Many of ours are doing that. It will vary from plant to plant. In any case, the plants should be dormant by now, and the pitchers will slowly decline over the winter. New growth should begin in April.
Good Growing!
