QuestionHi! I have a nepenthes x ventrata that I want to fertilize.
I have made a mix of 1/4 teaspoon of high quality orchid fertilizer mixed into one gallon of distilled water. I'm wondering if you can help me in how i apply the fertilizer to my plant. Like do i mist it on or pour iot in the soil???
AnswerHello Victor,
I have never felt a need to fertilize my carnivorous plants since they will easily obtain their own fertilizer by trapping insects.
You can use 1/4 down to 1/8 strength fertilizer on Nepenthes by spraying it or wiping it with a cloth on the top and bottom of each leaf once every two to four weeks. Less is generally better as fertilizing carnivorous plants can result in burning the leaves.
