QuestionQUESTION: Hi again, I recently ordered some Darlingtonia californica seed(the mountain variety) form flytrapstore and I'm wondering if I can use the same germination methods for zone 8 in zone 11.
I gonna try use 2 part perlite to 1 part peat moss to 1 part orchid bark(the mix you guys uses)with PUR water and full sun
ANSWER: Hi Edmund,
You can if you mean using the refrigerator method. They will need about 2 months of cold, damp stratification. That soil mix is a good one for seed germination also.
Trying Darlingtonia in Hawaii; I see you're up for a challenge. :) It will help if you live at a higher elevation.
Good Growing!

QUESTION: Thanks :D,
I heard that you be able to germinate the seeds without stratification, is it true?
AnswerHi Edmund,
Here's a link that might be useful. http://www.carnivorousplants.org/seedbank/species/Darlingtonia.htm
I have had Darlingtonia germinate without stratification, but only very sparsely.
