Allexperts,
I have a question about whether or not you could have crushed marbles lining the bottom of a pot? Would that have any adverse advect on the plant itself? Crushed marbles would be on the bottom of the pot. I have attached a photo on the the email in case the age of the plant might matter.

Since marbles are usually made of glass, they would be inert and pose no problem. Are you just trying to line the bottom of the pot to minimize media loss?
