Question
Cape Sundew
Allexperts,
The Sundew that I got from you about I believe in December. I put the plant outside about May11th. Since then the plant is gotten smaller since being outside. Should bring the plant back inside? The sundew is a Red Leaf Cape Sundew. I have attached a photo of the plant. I have the plant in full sun.
Please let me know if you need more information.
Sincerely,
Weylin
AnswerWhenever you change the growing conditions of a plant, the plant will respond accordingly. Your plant is simply responding to the brighter conditions, so it's producing smaller leaves. It doesn't need large leaves because in full sun it's much more efficient in photosynthesis. You should bring the plant inside or provide some shade only if you are bothered by the smaller leaves. Otherwise, the plant is behaving normally to the change in growing conditions.
Good growing!
