Questionhi i was wondering can the jell substance on the plant can kill or harm people?
AnswerCan the "dew" of a sundew harm or kill human beings? This is an easy question to answer: I have no idea. I doubt that anyone has ever ingested enough to kill him- or herself (I'm sure they would stop short of that if they knew it was hurting them), and I doubt that many people have been inclined to eat some of the sticky goo just to see what happens. On the other hand, when I was young I tasted some of the poisonous milky sap from a taro leaf stalk (I didn't know it was poisonous) and ended up with a painful mouth and tongue and a throat almost swollen shut making breathing very difficult, so some people do the darndest things!
But to find better answers, I would check with dedicated sundew growers in one or more of the Internet carnivorous plant forums such as those below.
