Hello, I have a question regarding soil.  When mixing peat with sand for a soil mix, what is the best sand to use?  Can I use regular playground sand that you might put in a sandbox? Or should you use something else?

Hello Fred,

You can use sand, but make sure it is silica based, not beach or lime and calcium based sands as with construction use. The type labeled as play sand in plant nurseries is usually the silica based sand and can be mixed in a 1:1 ratio with your sphagnum peat moss.
