QuestionHi Jacob. My VFT has awoken from dormancy about 2 weeks ago. The leaves are coming at a steady pace and the new traps have some red coloration which is good. Right? But the new traps are much much smaller than the new traps in fall that were an inch long. Can you tell me whats wrong?
Is it normal for it to do this?
AnswerThat's completely normal. The first set of traps are typically smaller in early spring than during peak growing season. You didn't mention your region, so I can't comment about your weather, but if your weather is cool, especially at night, the traps will be small at this time. In any case, you can look forward to larger traps when the weather is much warmer and sunnier.
Good growing!
