brown leaves on nepenthes ampullaria

Question
I am growing a nepenthes ampullaria under a sixty-five watt florescent light in pure live sphagnum moss.I use distilled water.the older leaves, not the newer ones keep getting brown spots, then yellow, then the whole leaf is dead. it has been doing this the whole time I have owned it. Is this normal?

Answer
Yes, the leaves live for only 2-6 months.  After that, they show signs of age - yellowing, brown spots and sometimes red patches.  All of this is normal and unavoidable.  Simply clip them off when they dry up.  As long as your plant is producing new growth, your plant is healthy.
