Question
s. Flava
Hello, when I bought the Yellow trumpet pitcher plant from it was during
winter do it had no pitchers what so ever. when spring came they grew
beautifully now as we are in summer the pitchers I noticed are growing
thinner and wavy they wont grow straight up instead they grow like waves. I
live in S.Florida which is zone 10 and I keep them in a tray of water in the
same pot with soil thy came in. I don't know what could possibly be the
problem.
Thank you
AnswerHi Edward,
Since you live in Florida, your plant should have lots of stout pitchers. Given its appearance, I recommend giving the plant more sunlight. The thin leaves, lack of pitchers and poor color suggest that the plant is growing in the shade. This plant grows best in full sun, 6 hours or more of direct sunlight. Move the plant to a sunnier location. It will take a while for it to produce nice pitchers, and the plant won't look it's best until next season.
