Question
S.Flava
I have two S. Flava in a pot together. They both have recently started to develop rust spots along the outside of the lid (please see attached picture). They are indoors in a window with eastern exposure (they get morning light).
AnswerHi Matthew,
This appearance is very normal this time of year. S. flava pitchers start looking a little rough late in the summer. These spots are caused by a fungus feeding on the nectar on the lid. It's not harmful overall. By the end of September most of the pitchers will begin dying off as we get into fall, and the plant begins going dormant.
Good Growing!
