Question
Curly Dana
Hey Guys,
I am growing Dana Delights.
I am growing them out side, so natural light. Water is distilled and soil is peat, perlite, and green plastic airsoft BB's (For breaking up the soil since I don't have silica sand.
I am in northwest Arkansas (Rogers)
My issue: I just moved here from Greeley Co where my plants were getting 9-12 hours of full sun and near 100 temps. I moved to AR a couple of weeks ago and when I got here, there was no good sunny place that wasn't getting sprayed by sprinklers, so they sit on a deck where they get pockets of sun. All the small pitchers have either opened up way early (way smaller than the ones just before them) and several of them grew in a curl like a Ram's horn.
Not sure if this behavior is going to continue or they just freaked out. Can you tell me what is going on and if you think they are doomed.
Thanks.
AnswerHi Troy,
This is a funky little phyllodia that I see in Daina's Delight sometimes. It may be from the disturbance and move, but it is of little concern. The biggest issue is your light. Daina's Delight almost always has more red, so you just need to find a spot where it can get full sun.
Good Growing!
