QuestionHello;
Do you see a problem with growing a standard VFT, a red VFT and a cupped VFT all together in a 4 inch pot ?
Thank you

Answer
Venus Flytrap Communit
There is absolutely no problem with growing several or many Venus Flytraps in the same pot, and several advantages--
* A larger pot gives greater depth for Venus Flytrap roots to grow (the roots on mature plants can easily become 8 to 10 inches (20 to 25 centimeters) in length.
* The greater mass of soil (growing medium) in a larger pot buffers the temperature better than in a smaller pot, which is particularly important in the summer when small pots can quickly overheat in direct sunlight and can (in extreme cases) literally bake and kill plants' roots.
* The soil in a larger pot does not turn from moist to bone dry as quickly as in a small pot, which is helpful with Venus Flytraps, which prefer to be moist, not wet all the time. The native environment of the Venus Flytrap is not a bog or swamp as many people believe, but instead sandy savannahs (grasslands) and pine barrens where the water table is high but usually not at the surface.
I grow most of my mature Venus Flytraps in groups in large pots that are 8 or 10 inches in diameter.
For much more information about how to grow Venus Flytraps and to ask questions and participate in a carnivorous plant forum, I would suggest the FlytrapCare.com Forum
