Question
I have 4 different varieties of pitcher plants I also have 2 cats.  Both of my cats are Extremely attracted to all of the pitcher plants but not to any of my other house plants.  Is there something about them that is attractive to cats?  Thanks!

Hi Katie,

Because your pitcher plants are in the house, I'm assuming you have Nepenthes.  Nepenthes often exude sugary nectar on their pitchers and leaves.  This could be what the cats are attracted to.  You might try getting some peppermint oil and putting it on cotton balls around plants.  They don't tend to like peppermint, and it will make the area smell like candy canes.
