QuestionOn the Nepenthes Pitcher Plant when the pitcher dies and you want to cut it off. Were do you cut it off from the end of the pitcher or the end of the leaf.
AnswerHello Sammy,
It really does not matter. In nature, there is nobody to cut them off at all. It is mostly a matter of esthetics for the grower. I usually just wait for the entire pitcher and tendril to die off and clip it off at the leaf end as the leaf will live for a while longer. Waiting for the pitcher to die off completely ensures that the plant has had time to absorb all the goodies that it wants from the dying pitcher before it is removed.
