Picking sand size

Question
Hey there. I was planning on repotting one of my cephalotus and my D. regia soon but need some help picking out the type of sand. Not really the type, but the grit number. I have been using 20 grit silica sand for some of my plants and was wondering whether I should stick to that or if I should go with a different size. I have found silica that is 16 girt, 20 grit and 30 grit. I have been using 20 grit and was wondering if I should switch to a different size. Thanks you guys.

Answer
Hi Manny,

Whichever of those grit sizes is a medium grit size, go for that one.  A real fine sand won't give you the air spaces you want around the roots.  From what I read on grit sizes those are all pretty coarse.  20 or 30 is probably just fine.

Good Growing!
