QuestionDear Jacob
I sent a payment for plants > Venus Fly Trap + Dente > S. rubra ssp. wherryi > D. multifida, 'Extrema' > D. scorpiodes. Recently in my last question you told me that those plants were in dormant and when they reach Florida they will think it's springtime and come out of dormant. I understand that in summer time you keep them in standing water, but when they are in dormant you keep the soil wet. My main question is should I keep the soil moist until I see some growing? Or put them in standing water when I get them?

AnswerHi Justin,
Always keep the soil moist and in the appropriate sunlight. This is regardless if the plants are dormant or in active growth. So standing water is appropriate. At our nursery, all of the temperate plants are in standing water, even during their dormancy.
Good growing!
