Hi allexperts,

I recently brought the sundew video from you,and in the video you said you could propagate from leaf cuttings. You used super thrive in the little clear plastic cup.  My question is could Miracle Grow be a good substitute for super thrive? Thank you.

Hi Weylin,

Superthrive, as I mentioned in the video, is a vitamin B-1 and hormone solution designed to enhance rooting.  Miracle-gro is a fertilizer.  The two are very different.  Miracle-grow will kill your sundew cuttings.  Using Superthrive speeds up the development on root cuttings, but it's use isn't vital.  Just making sure everything is very clean and that you use a fungicide will also give good results.  You can even get many sundews to develop from leaf cuttings by just putting them in a clear container of distilled water and leaving them in bright light.
