D. multifida, Extrema - Multifork Leaf Sundew

Question
Hello Allexperts!

I was thinking of buying a D. multifida, 'Extrema' - Multifork Leaf Sundew from your website Www.cobraplants.com I noticed it said for the 'Sunlight' section is said 'partial' but in your mini paragraph you said you grow them in full sun outside.  I live in Florida (Zone 10) so I was wondering if I can keep it outside in sunlight ( 6 - 8) hours of light per day or should I keep it in a southern window?

Answer
Hi Justin,

The full quote on sun is: "All tropical sundews require a lot of sun to maintain their dewy appearance. Grow them in a location where they can receive full to partial sun."  These directions are generalized to include plants such as Drosera adelae which does like the sun a little milder.   All of the D. binata complex, of which multifida is included, do best in full sun.  In south Florida it will do best as an outdoor plant.  They will also tolerate a brief frost.

More information on growing this plant and other tropical sundews can be found in our DVD, "Grow Carnivorous Plants volume #2.

Good Growing!
