QuestionWould it be too much of a shock to my plants if I move them all at once into a much warmer room with a grow light? We're talking taking them out of average constant 72-78 degree room and into 80-90 degrees during the day under the grow light and down to 70-80 degrees at night.
I want to move all my Neps, Droseras, and a baby Cephalotus. Some of my plants are established and some are still probably under 2 years old.
Thanks,
Holly
AnswerHi Holly,
No, that's not a shock at all. That's actually normal diurnal variations that these plants might experience in the wild. It could be 78 one day and 90 the next. However, your plants would actually do better in the first room than in the second room. With slightly warmer day temperatures, you should get the night temperatures in the upper 60s. This is particularly true for the Cephalotus, which prefers slightly cooler temperatures. The other plants might tolerate the warmer room (depending on the species), but you'll actually have better growth if the temperature was consistently at 72-75.
Good growing!
