Nepenthes blooming removal

Question

N. Kohala blooming
Hello, my N.Kohala which lost it's parent due to a new environment has produced what you see on the photo over this summer and is now blooming. It looks like a male plant, but I don't have a female N. Kohala so I was wondering if it would be okey to remove the flower stems (2x), or should I just let them stay till they turn brown, thanks for the advice.

Answer
Hi Ilya,

It doesn't really matter one way or the other.  If you don't want seeds you can remove them.  If you like the flowers, just enjoy them. (Even though they smell very strange!)

On a side note, you actually have a female plant. (Thank-you for sending the photo.)  I can tell because the flowers have a swollen little bulb, and that's an ovary.  If you have a male in bloom, or know someone who does, you could do some pollination.

Good Growing!
