QuestionHi, I'm William, 13 years old, and have been growing cps for a few years. Anyways, I was considering to purchase a Pinguicula emarginata as a houseplant. However, I'm worried that the temperature may get too high here in the San Diego area; fall is our hottest season (mid 80s during the day, mid 70s at night)! All other seasons have a temperature drop to the low 70s or high 60s. Can P. emarginata survive or even thrive in these conditions?
AnswerHi William,
Those temperatures are just fine for P. emarginata and most Mexican butterworts. San Diego has fairly mild climate being so close to the ocean. Mexican butterworts also prefer filtered light as opposed to full sun.
Good Growing!
