Questionhi there Sarracenia northwest.. I sow 20 seeds of darlingtonia on live sphagnum moss into the terracotta pot. So it's on my west window and it gets about 6 hours of strong sunlight per day. Pot is placed in some dish with water to make sphagnum fresh and moist. Before that pot was placed in fridge for 4 and half weeks. So my question is; how long does it take for seeds to produce seedlings? thank you...
I'm from Croaia zone 7
AnswerHi Fran,
You're probably looking at about 3 weeks for germination. Once your seeds germinate, the plants will take about 4-5 years to reach maturity.

Addendum to Jeff's Response

Hi Fran,
I noticed that you submitted a question to AllExperts. I'm curious about your rating of 5 for knowledge and clarity. I reviewed Jeff's response, and it is completely accurate for the question that you asked, "How long does it take for seeds to produce seedlings?"
You provided information about how you stratified your seeds and how you're currently keeping them. Based on this, Jeff's response was, "You're probably looking at about 3 weeks for germination. Once your seeds germinate, the plants will take about 4-5 years to reach maturity."
I'm curious why you rated Jeff a 5 on both knowledge and clarity. His response seems very appropriate and accurate for the question you asked, so the rating seems very low. This rating seems to suggest that the response was inaccurate or not what you were seeking.
Since we are very busy working in the nursery and we volunteer our free time to answer questions on AllExperts, we can only respond to questions as they are posed to us. If you were looking for a different response or additional information, that was not indicated in your question.
Was there a different response you were looking for? Since I sometimes answer questions on AllExperts when Jeff is busy, what could I do differently to avoid a low rating of 5 and achieve a higher rating?
Respectfully,
Jacob Farin
