QuestionI recently purchased a venus flytrap and a sundew plant. I read that the pot should be in standing water at all times. Does that simply mean that if the pot is in a tray, always make sure there is at least some water standing in the they for the pot/dirt to absorb? Thanks!
AnswerHi Erik,
For bog species such as Venus flytraps and sundews the crucial concept is that the soil should never be dry. We like to keep them in about 1/2" to 1/4" of water. Be sure the water is no more than half way up the pot. For detailed information on growing Venus flytraps, sundews and other carnivorous plants visit: http://www.cobraplant.com/caresheets/
