QuestionHi, I was wondering if I could ask two questions. I was looking at your website with interest in buying a few sundews. While looking the "fact sheets" I saw a picture of one that I really liked, specifically the D. capillaris. Sadly I couldn't find it in any of the sections to buy, so, I was simply wondering does that mean that it is in cultivation or it is not available at this point in time.
Secondly, I was wondering if growing the D. filiformis x intermedia - Hybrida indoors would be an alright idea. It says it needs a great deal of sunlight, and I believe that on several of our windows it would be able to get at least 4-6 hours of sunlight, but it said that growing it outdoors would be better. Would it be possible to grow it inside? Thanks for your time!

AnswerHi Aaron,
We probably won't have any Drosera capillaris available anytime soon. Because of low demand for this plant we didn't sow any new seed this year. (Drosera capillaris is an annual.) Try doing a web search for it , however, if you're really interested in this plant. It is a common plant in the southeast U.S. and tends to be available at various nurseries.
With most of the North American sundews, such as D. filiformis x intermedia, they tend to do poorly indoors. They don't form proper winter resting buds, and tend to rot out during the winter if not cold. It's better to consider tropicals such as D. capensis, tropical red D. filiformis, D. spatulata, D. aliciae, etc... They tend to do much better indoors.
Good Growing!
